For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

I am an expert. I am an expert when it comes to procrastination. I have immeasurable talent when it comes to putting things off. I know I can do it now, but I can always do it later.

God isn’t like that.

I don’t ever recall reading an account where Jesus told someone to wait. He never put things off. He never waited until a better time came along. He saw needs and He met them. Right then and there. Even when the time was deemed inconvenient for His disciples, Jesus still came through.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14

Jesus knew that He was always setting an example for us to follow. He knew that, for generations to come, people would be reading accounts of His life and taking measure of His every action.

If Jesus never waited, what am I waiting for?
